Where to find Dayton’s best food trucks in July
Posted Friday, July 6, 2018

If you were in attendance at Austin Landing’s First Friday Food Truck Frenzy last month, you were part of the largest audience ever to show up for an event at The Park. This is precisely why you need to put the July First Friday Food Truck Frenzy on your calendar now! Join us on Friday, July 6, beginning at 6 p.m. for more fun, fantastic music, fresh brews and food trucks at The Park at Austin Landing.

This month’s music lineup is nothing short of spectacular, with two of Ohio’s best-loved cover bands coming to the stage at The Park on the same night. Toledo’s own Arctic Clam kicks things off with their high-energy set from 6-7:30 p.m. The headliner, Cincinnati-based cover band The Menus, takes the stage at 8 p.m. to take the celebration up a notch, with their “weirdness-that-works” style.

Be sure to come early so you don’t miss the live sky dive, with professional parachute demonstration Team Fastraxpresenting the American flag during the opening ceremony. After darkness sets in, Team Fastrax will head back up for a pyrotechnic sky dive that’s sure to set your night on fire. Stick around to wrap up the evening with a huge Fourth of July fireworks show at 10:30 p.m.

As always, the evening’s proceeds will go to benefit a local charity. The recipient of this month’s funding is the Blue Skies for the Good Guys and Gals Warrior Foundation. The mission of the organization is to provide enriching, life-changing experiences that facilitate new friendships and emotional healing for veterans, Purple Heart Warriors, and the families of fallen heroes. Each year, the organization hosts a Warrior Weekend to Remember, a five-day event in July that is filled with activities for the warriors and their families.

Let’s not overlook the fine selection of food trucks that will be at Austin Landing, ready to fill hungry stomachs with delicious treats. Bring your appetite and be ready for fare from El Meson, Cupzilla, Greek Street, Pit to Plate, 1776 Grill, Marty’s Waffles, Quite Frankly, Food Fellas, Claybourne Grille and more.

Have you joined the #DoSomethingGood movement yet? Make sure you pick up a wristband at Austin Landing, then snap a photo of yourself doing something good and share it on social media with the hashtag. No good thing is too big or too small to share! Help us spread this movement across the nation — always strive to #DoSomethingGood. Visit AustinLanding.com/dosomethinggood to learn more about how you can join in.

Tickets for the evening are only $5. Where else can you have this much fun for such a small investment and know that all of it, including proceeds from beer sales, will go to a worthy cause?  You can buy tickets online in advance, or you can purchase them at the door. (We’re now accepting both credit card and cash at the door and for beer and drink sales, but some food trucks may be cash only.) Go to AustinLanding.com/firstfriday to buy your tickets today.

Remember that the event is outdoors, so dress for the weather. Parking is available at the parking garage adjacent to the event area or behind Progress Park Tower.
