Runners braved the cold in Cupid’s Undie Run to raise money for children’s tumor research
Posted Saturday, February 16, 2019MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WRGT/WKEF) - It looks like Cupid is still busy this weekend after Valentine's Day, raising money for a great cause. Runners were ready in their "undies" and in other fun costumes for Cupid's Undie Run Saturday afternoon.
Runners arrived at Austin Landing ready to raise money and have fun for Dayton's first annual Cupid's Undie Run.
The run raises money to find a cure for neurofibromatosis or NF. Neurofibromatosis is a rare genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body and affects 1 in every 3,000 children.
For children with NF, symptoms range from digestive issues, deafness, disabling pain, cancer and much more.
"Its all in effort to raise money for kids with NF which stands for neurofibromitosis, its a very rare disease that is in kid, they're born with it" said Cherly Dillian from the Austin Landing Marketing Department," We're kind of celebrating imperfect bodies that they are perfectly imperfect and whats better than doing that by dawning your underwear and running around in the freezing cold."
