You won’t want to miss this tribute to the King of Pop
Posted Friday, August 3, 2018

Summer may be winding down, but the fun is far from over, as Austin Landing gears up for its August First Friday Food Truck Frenzy event. Head out to The Park at Austin Landing (10400 Innovation Drive, Miami Twp.) on Friday, Aug. 3, to enjoy fun, food and festive beverages for a good cause, from 6-10:30 p.m.

At 6 p.m., the opening act, Brass Tacks Band, will warm things up with their set that pays homage to the sounds of Chicago, Earth Wind & Fire, Blood Sweat & Tears, Tower of Power, and other great bands from the 60s through the 80s. Then headliner Who’s Bad — the Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience brings to the stage a music-and-dance-driven tribute to the King of Pop that has earned rave reviews and delighted Jackson fans all over the world since 2003. You won’t want to miss their epic performance that starts at 8 p.m.

As always, proceeds from the evening will go to support a local non-profit organization. This month, earnings from ticket and beverage sales will be donated to the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation. The foundation provides support for fallen police officers by conducting an annual memorial ceremony to honor Montgomery County law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. These officers also will be honored at the First Friday event with a spectacular skydive that will feature both an American flag and a blueline police flag at 7:30 p.m., between the music sets.

New for this event is Austin Landing’s first-ever White Glove VIP package, which features amazing perks, a guaranteed seat, drink tickets and more, for $100. You also have the opportunity to purchase a standard VIP ticket for $35. Both VIP options, brought to you by sponsor Yuengling, include a band meet-and-greet, fantastic Yuengling swag, and access to the exclusive Yuengling VIP tent. Party in the shade with your own exclusive bar, while watching the biggest and best show of the season! This event is rain or shine, and the VIP packages are limited, so grab them while they last. General admission tickets are $10. Click here to buy your tickets now.

While the music certainly will be the highlight of the evening, there will be plenty of other fun things to do, including the Dunk a Cop dunk tank, K-9 officer demonstrations, and police vehicle displays. Cinépolis will be providing free popcorn and samples of their new menu items, too. As usual, there will be a tremendous lineup of food trucks, with El Meson, Cupzilla, Pit to Plate, 1776 Grill, McNasty’s, Marty’s Waffles, StoryPoint’s Friendly Fork, and Claybourne Grille all scheduled to attend. Be sure to check AustinLanding.com/FirstFriday for the full food truck lineup.

If not, remember to grab your wristband, then snap a photo of yourself doing something good and share it with the hashtag on social media.
