New health restaurant to open first Ohio location at Austin Landing

A growing franchise that links itself to the “newest wave of the health food revolution” is expected to open at Austin Landing with its first Ohio location.

Frutta Bowls has leased 1,400 square foot of space in the Progress Park Office Tower on Rigby Road, according to VisCap Development, which manages the mixed use retail complex in Miami Twp.

The Austin Landing site is expected to be one of the upcoming openings of several franchises in many cities, according to the website for the New Jersey-based company started in 2016.

“The newest wave of the health food revolution centers around the Acai berry,” which is native to Central and South America, according to the company.

“This berry spoils extremely fast when harvested, so it is always immediately processed and frozen. This is why it is relatively new to Americans diet as it has not been easy to import,” the company states.

The company has more than 20 locations in New Jersey, North Carolina and Alabama, according to its website.
