Austin Landing honoring wounded veterans, Gold Star families with events this week

Austin Landing will honor wounded veterans and Gold Star families on Thursday and Friday.

A Jeep parade will start at the Hilton Garden Inn at about 6 p.m. Thursday. About 100 Wounded Warriors and Gold Star families will be at Austin Landing all weekend.

 

On Friday, the mixed retail complex in Miami Twp. will host a Warrior Weekend Hot Rod Happy Hour. It will include classic Hot Rods to lining up on Penny Lane.

UBS Financial Services will be hosting a Happy Hour at Bar 145 to honor Gold Star families and Purple Heart recipients.

 

Wounded Warrior Project is a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following Sept. 11, 2001. It operates as a nonprofit 501 organization.

America’s Gold Star Families is also a not-for-profit organization created to provide honor, hope and healing to those grieving any military loss. It includes all family members representing all conflicts, all branches of service and all circumstance of death.
