Jeep parade from Austin Landing to Fifth Third Field kicks off Warrior Weekend
Posted Thursday, July 20, 2017DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Groups gathered at Austin Landing for a Jeep parade to Fifth Third Field Thursday.
The parade was part of the Warrior Weekend Event. Throughout the weekend, veterans, combat-injured Purple Heart recipients and the families of fallen military members are honored by getting life-changing experiences that facilitate new friendships and emotional healing.
They made their way to Fifth Third Field for the Dragons game.
“So, it’s an extremely enriching, life-changing experience that we provide for all these wonderful men and women,” lead ambassador Samuel Deeds said.
Other events throughout the weekend include a car show, silent auction, balloon festival and a 5K run/walk.
