Austin Landing’s New Year’s Eve Event Raises Thousands for Pink Ribbon Girls
Posted Wednesday, January 6, 2016MIAMI TOWNSHIP -- The inaugural year for the New Year's Even party at Austin Landing was a resounding success, the development's management said Tuesday.
The New Year's Eve event attracted more than 1,000 people to the Miami Township development, which featured live entertainment, food and drink sales, fireworks and a live ball drop at midnight.
The event raised money for the Pink Ribbon Girls, an organization that provides free meals, housekeeping, transportation and peer support to women and their families battling breast and other cancers. A total of $28,300 was raised that night and when considering other events at Austin Landing, $48,288 has been raised total.
"By every measure, Austin Landing had a successful first year of events. Giving back to the community has always been a priority in our 2015 goals.” Austin Landing Marketing Coordinator Kayla Long said.
