Exclusive: Popular Dayton-area bakery to open Austin Landing location
Posted Wednesday, June 24, 2015

A Dayton-area bakery plans to open a location at Austin Landing.

Ele Cake Co. has signed a lease for a 2,800-square-foot space in the mixed-use development in Miami Township, said Kayla Long, a spokeswoman for developer RG Properties.

The store will open in the space between Dewey’s Pizza and Coldstone Creamery next to the public park.

Ele Cake Co. currently has two locations — its headquarters in West Carrollton, and a retail location in Beavercreek. Owner Melody Richey said she was not yet ready to talk about her plans for the space.

The company notes on its Web site that it is hiring for both existing locations.

RG Properties has seen repeated success luring new chain restaurants from outside the region to the development, but has not landed many expansions of local businesses.

Ele Cake Co. will bring a local element to the retail side of the development, and offer a spot for shoppers and workers in the development to satisfy their sweet tooth, and will give the bakery exposure to high-end customers.
