It’s official: Financial firm to move to Austin Landing

A downtown Dayton financial firm is officially moving to Austin Landing.

Developer RG Properties is building out an office for UBS Financial Services in its newest office and retail building at Austin Landing at 3601 Rigby Road, according to Montgomery County building permits.

That space is a consolidation of UBS’ two existing offices in the Dayton market — 110 N. Main St. in Dayton and 7887 Washington Village Drive in Washington Township, where the firm had leased a combined 25,000 square feet for its 90 employees, said Tim Cornell, branch manager for the downtown Dayton office. Cornell said the new space will be 22,000 square feet.

"What drove the move was the consolidation of the two offices," he said. "We really liked the space we were in, but there was no way to consolidate everyone in either space, so we had to find new space."

I first reported about the move back in July 2014, as the firm follows in the path of many other financial firms who have chosen to relocate to Austin Landing.

The move bolsters the Miami Township mixed-use project's already strong lineup of financial services tenants, and will give employees access to convenient parking and a potential tax break if they live in a city or township with no income tax. The growing administrative functions of Premier Health will likely backfill the space at 110 N. Main St. in downtown.
